Mike Palahnuk Camp Pavilion Project Fundraiser

Coming Spring of 2025!

The Schenectady JCC’s Camp Chaverim has been selected to take part in a Day Camp matching grant program through JCamp180, a Harold Grinspoon Foundation initiative to inspire camps across the country to fund needed physical improvements on campus. The Foundation will fund up to $25,000 if we are able to receive a total local match of $50,000 for donations received between June 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025. The plan is to build a a new Pavilion to replace our current structure known to campers as the Beit Am.  

To make this pavilion even more special the JCC will be building in memory of Mike Palahnuk, the JCC’s longtime facilities director, who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer. 

 The addition of the pavilion a communal space for our Summer Camps, but will also be used by our After School & ECE programs and offer opportunities for our seniors to gather for programs.
